Crowns and Bridges

A crown can be used to restore a tooth that is stained, broken or has a large filling.  To apply a crown the tooth can be damaged but not lost.  It is also called a cap, as it is a hollow artificial tooth.  It can be used to cover a decayed or discoloured tooth that looks and acts like a natural tooth.

There are several different kinds of crowns like:

  • Metal Crowns
  • Composite Crowns
  • Porcelain Crowns
  • Porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns
Crowns can last up to 10 years if proper hygiene is followed on a regular basis.  Crowns need to be brushed and flossed just like natural teeth.

Come in for a consultation to see if we can replace your temporary cap to a more permanent crown.

What is a Dental Bridge?

A dental bridge is one or more artificial teeth that a dentists uses to fill a gap of one or more missing teeth in your mouth. Dental bridges are custom-made to provide each patient with a natural-looking smile.

Reasons for Dental Bridges

Replacing missing teeth can help to prevent future dental issues like gum disease from developing so you can maintain your oral health.

Your dentist may use a dental bridge to:

  • Restore the natural contour of your teeth
  • Restore the bite between your upper and lower teeth
  • Prevent remaining teeth from shifting or falling out
  • Maintain the shape of your face
  • Restore your ability to properly chew and speak
